  1. I ‘ve been to the local DMV in Van Nuys about 10 time in the last month to transfer my registration and license from AZ to CA. They keep sending me on wild goose chases. I have been physically threatened by one employee. I have come to the conclusion after going there ten times and getting nothing accomplished that I am being discriminated against at that location because I have a slight form of autism. There are no legal issues preventing me from getting a liscens and registration. I even ended up paying all the fees already somehow. I have asked to speak to supervisors and they always just send me to an empty window. All I can say is that it is quite dehumanizing. I’m going to have to drive to a different county and try it out, of course my registration is expired by noe though. My question is, what can I do about this and how do I file a formal complaint or lawsuit.

  6. hello anna

police departments often make mistakes when it comes to inventory vehicles

it is your obligation as a car dealer to always keep current and post your dealer plate

when an inventory vehicle is on the roadway

please answer the following questions so that we may determine

a proper path of action for you

is the expired temporary plate you mention your dealer plate???

if you have not renewed your temporary dealer plate, the seizure is valid

what police department has seized and impounded your vehicle???

if you need to register the vehicle, you can use a retail dealer

to draft the sale, post sales taxes and fees to recover the vehicle

if the dealer license, plate and insurance is valid

we suggest a complaint of policy be filed with the police department

this will trigger a determination as to the legality of the seizure

and the level of training the department provides its officers in this area

if you are valid and wish representation we suggest our dmv attorney

    stephanie francone, 831-684-1077

please fax us vehicle information, dealer license and your contact information

if you wish a further evaluation

    good luck

    thx

  7. hello anna

this happens more often than we would like to report

good law enforcement is about good training

our how to become a car dealer class

is built on the basis of sound law enforcement training

TriStar Motors LLC as dealer education providers for the california dmv

are all retired training officers from the SFPD

willis garriott, al perini and joe weatherman

founded the training in 1998 based on these principles

    therefore

to assist law enforcement and local officials

    in this topic

    we have had for years

a free website devoted to free dealer education

    specifically designed for law enforcement

    its called cops for free:

    http://www.copsforfree.com

and it can save law enforcement from any further embarassing decisions

remember, a dealer NEVER has to register a vehicle

remember, a dealer as lienholder, with a copy of the title,

a copy of the contract, and a schedule showing the buyer in default of that contract

( copy of check for last car payment, for example )

is legally allowed to recover seized vehicles in default on the purchase contract

the police department has NO LEGAL AUTHORITY to hold the vehicle

and rack up additional storage charges

our dmv attorney stephanie, 831-684-1077 has legal authority and experience

if you have this type of situation

    it happens pretty often

that being said, often the dealer is outside of the rule book

and the officer is aware of car dealer law

and the citation, seizure and impoundment is just and valid

remember, a dealer license is an exchange

    an exchange of privledge

    for responsibility

    hope this helps

    thx

  9. hello mario

    are you nuts??

writing down an incorrect amount on a bill of sale is a crime

and if you are convicted of a false statement and tax fraud you could go to jail

when you filed your release of liability did you enter an amount???

if you need to file an additional release of liability here is the form:

    http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/reg/reg138.pdf

you may also file a complaint with the dmv:

    http://www.dmv.ca.gov/forms/inv/inv172.pdf

if you need a good dmv attorney we suggest stephanie @ 831-684-1077

    good luck
    thx
